Are you an experienced IMO professional ready to lead, mentor, and drive operational excellence?

Join Clay Consulting as an IMO Support Lead and play a vital role in ensuring high-quality, timely Independent Medical Opinions that support accurate claim determinations. In this role, you’ll combine hands-on IMO research with leadership responsibilities, helping guide and support the IMO team while collaborating closely with operations leadership.

JOB SUMMARY:
The IMO Support Lead is responsible for conducting Independent Medical Opinion (IMO) research within vendor portals to support the timely and accurate completion of claim reports. This role serves as a lead resource within the IMO department by assisting with onboarding, training, coaching, and development of IMO Specialists while promoting operational efficiency, quality, and consistency across the team. The IMO Support Lead is expected to balance individual production responsibilities with departmental support initiatives and collaboration with leadership.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform IMO research accurately and efficiently within vendor portals to support provider completion of claim reports.
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards established by operational leadership and management.
  • Complete and maintain the IMO Support Tracker daily to document performance metrics and workload progress.
  • Follow provider IMO allocations and workflow assignments as directed by leadership.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new IMO Specialists, including coaching on processes, systems, quality expectations, and departmental workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor of Operations Management (SOM) and leadership team to identify workflow improvements, training opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of departmental training materials, processes, and strategies.
  • Communicate proactively with leadership regarding workload concerns, assignment updates, operational barriers, and support needs.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and teamwork within the IMO department to support overall departmental success.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with company policies, vendor requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Work onsite at a Clay Consulting location or remotely in accordance with company remote work policies, including signed acknowledgment of applicable agreements and policies.
  • Perform additional administrative or operational duties as assigned by management based on business needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct accurate medical and claims-related research.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and support team members in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with leadership and peers.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and web-based vendor portals/systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational needs, workflows, and priorities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in IMO research, medical records review, claims support, or healthcare operations preferred.
  • Prior experience training, mentoring, or leading team members preferred.
  • Experience working within vendor portals or healthcare documentation systems preferred.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers and telephones.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
