The ASDS SBU Engineering Execution Team is looking for a Senior Principal Engineer to perform as an Integrated Product Team Lead for the AMRAAM® E2 program. This position involves leading a team of sub-IPT technical leaders, providing technical oversight, managing suppliers, test equipment and stakeholders to support the development of the system. In this role, you will support the Program Manager and drive predictable delivery with the opportunity to identify and drive improvements to the process. 

What You Will Do

  • Lead a team of 5-7 Sub-IPT Leads, including electrical engineers, software engineers, systems engineers and mechanical engineers.

  • Coordinate with program leadership, finance, planning, and team leads to execute Earned Value Management (EVM).  This includes providing Earned Value (EV) metrics and authoring Baseline Change Requests (BCRs), Variance narratives (VARs) and Latest Revised Estimates (LREs) / Estimates At Complete (EACs).

  • Innovate and implement process improvements to reduce cost and improve efficiency.

  • Identify and analyze risks; develop/implement associated mitigation plans.

  • Drive collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and across IPTs to ensure technical alignment and risk mitigation.

  • Teach, coach and mentor less experienced staff.

  • Effectively communicate performance results to program leadership, functional leadership and customers.

  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.

  • Some travel required, both domestically and internationally (10-15%).

  • Recognize team members for project wins and excellence.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years’ prior relevant experience prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification.

  • Program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Budget Change Request (BCR) and Risk and Opportunity Management.

  • Experience with budget, schedule, Estimate at Complete (EAC) process and financial performance report generation with Test Systems Engineering or equivalent Engineering programs.

  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance is required before the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team of IPT Leads and engineers.

  • Strong influential communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present analytic and performance results from the program to executive and/or functional leadership.

  • Experience in large program execution.

  • Experience working in Transition-to-Production programs.

  • Experience with proposal capture and contract processes from receipt of Requests for Proposal (RFP), preparing Basis of Estimates (BOE), proposal submittal, preparing Statements of Work (SOW), contract startup and contract close-out.

  • Experience with all the functionalities of Automation Test Equipment/Unit Under Test (ATE/UUT).

  • Program Management certification, or equivalent to Raytheon PM Level 6 certification.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
