Job description

HR Manager

Location: Ohio (Bowling Green)

The HR Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support for a manufacturing operation across two Ohio locations. Reporting to the HR Director and serving as a key member of the HR team, this role partners closely with onsite Plant Managers and business leaders to support workforce needs and ensure effective HR service delivery.

Responsibilities include HR operations, employee relations, recruitment, payroll coordination, immigration and visa administration, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) compliance support, HRIS administration, employee lifecycle management, and HR compliance. The HR Manager ensures consistent HR practices, accurate employee data, and compliance with applicable labor and regulatory requirements while supporting the operational goals of the business.


HR Operations & Employee Relations

  • Support a 24/7 manufacturing operation in Factories by providing responsive, hands-on HR support to employees and leaders.
  • Partner closely with Manager and supervisors on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, attendance management, and workforce planning.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leave administration, and offboarding.
  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment matters.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure consistent HR processes and practices across all supported locations.

HRIS, Reporting & Workforce Analytics

  • Administer HRIS platforms and maintain accurate employee and organizational data.
  • Ensure data integrity through timely updates, audits, and process controls.
  • Prepare and analyze HR, payroll, headcount, turnover, labor, and compliance reports.
  • Support HR system enhancements, testing, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly workforce and labor reports to plant and company leadership.

Payroll Administration

  • Coordinate payroll processing and ensure accurate employee data, compensation changes, benefits deductions, and leave records.
  • Partner with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate payroll execution.
  • Support payroll audits, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with wage and hour regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.

Talent Acquisition

  • Support recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to meet staffing requirements and workforce planning objectives.
  • Track recruiting metrics and maintain applicant records.
  • Participate in local recruiting initiatives, job fairs, and community workforce partnerships.

Immigration & Global Mobility

  • Manage employment visa, work authorization, and immigration processes for employees and international hires.
  • Coordinate with immigration counsel and external service providers.
  • Monitor visa expirations, renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate immigration records and documentation.

Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Support

  • Support EHS programs, training, compliance activities, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain safety records, incident tracking, and corrective action documentation.
  • Partner with plant leadership to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance across all shifts.
  • Support investigations, follow-up actions, and resolution of workplace safety incidents.
  • Provide on-call support for critical workforce and safety matters as needed to support continuous manufacturing operations.
