Role Responsibilities

Outcomes/Success Criteria

  • Successful individuals will build relationships with internal/external stakeholders and work closely with key customers
  • Continuously delivers on commitments and openly communicates when issues arise
  • Assumes ownership of Payroll process, delivers performance against SLAs, and seeks opportunities to improve end to end processes
  • Supports the professional development of team members and build on the culture of continuous improvement, service expansion, and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Direct high performance team in US and Canada multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with policy, as well as Federal and state wage laws.
  • Drive effective enablement of the Dayforce Payroll System, leading efforts regarding configuration, governance, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure payroll is accurate, reports are timely and relevant, and research variances (e.g., number of timecards not equal to number of paychecks issues)
  • Set priorities for the team including specific goals and performance targets.  Leverage team strengths to achieve objectives.
  • Document end to end process flows to identify key areas of improvement
  • Track team performance including payroll processing, reporting, audit support
  • Prepare effective presentations and deliver timely updates to upper management
  • Maintain knowledge of legal and tax requirements and government reporting regulations impacting Payroll and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Direct annual year end processing and W2 and T4 reconciliation
  • Develop materials and provide periodic training with other departments to outline procure to pay processes
  • Lead payroll team and stakeholders in the effective use of the Dayforce Payroll system
  • Collaborate on various projects to promote short-term and long-term performance
Qualifications
  • University degree- BS/BA or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Five + years of Payroll experience
  • Experience in a shared services environment and robust understanding of HR/benefit cycles
  • Extensive Dayforce knowledge including configuration and governance
  • A proven track record of working with internal and external stakeholders

Preferences

  • MBA or similar graduate studies
  • CPP certification
  • SAP skills highly valuable
  • Beverage or spirits industry background
