Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Defensive Attorney to join our thriving legal team in either our Fairfax, Virginia, or Silver Spring, Maryland office. This is a fantastic opportunity for attorneys eager to build their careers, develop leadership skills, and pursue a clear, performance-based path to partnership.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Fairfax, VA, or Silver Spring, MD, with the expectation of on-site presence three days a week.


As a valued member of our firm, you will

  • Manage your own caseload while meeting case progression benchmarks.
  • Collaborate closely with paralegals and fellow attorneys to ensure seamless case handling.
  • Participate in firm committees under the guidance of firm partners, contributing to the firm's operations and success.
  • Enjoy a hybrid work model that blends flexibility with opportunities to meet clients and attend in-office events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis of immigration law cases.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on immigration matters, including asylum, cancellation of removal, and general removal defense.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
  • Provide effective guidance and support to clients throughout the immigration process.
  • Lead and manage multiple case files with strong organizational skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance legal strategies and case outcomes.
  • Stay updated on evolving immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

  • Active bar membership.
  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough legal research using legal platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages.
