1. Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments for clients newly presenting with mood disorders, gathering detailed histories, current symptomatology, and psychosocial backgrounds to inform treatment approaches.
2. Diagnosis: Utilize diagnostic frameworks such as the DSM-5 to establish accurate diagnoses based on comprehensive assessments.
3. Treatment Planning: Collaborate with clients to create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that align with their personal goals and clinical needs.
4. Psychotherapy: Provide a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual client needs. You may utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Mindfulness-Based Therapies in your practice.
5. Medication Management Collaboration: Work closely with a supervising psychiatrist to coordinate care for clients considering medication, ensuring a holistic approach to their treatment.
6. Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support for clients facing acute psychiatric challenges, employing crisis management techniques to stabilize their condition.
7. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain precise clinical documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring all client interactions are recorded accurately.
8. Collaboration and Consultation: Engage actively with your multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals, to ensure comprehensive client care.
9. Client Education and Support: Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, effective treatment options, and coping mechanisms to empower them in their journey to recovery.
10. Professional Ethics: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical conduct in all interactions, safeguarding the well-being of our clients.
11. Quality Improvement and Outcome Monitoring: Participate in initiatives aimed at assessing and enhancing service delivery and treatment effectiveness.

This position focuses on supporting individuals experiencing challenging mood disorders, including but not limited to, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and various anxiety-related disorders. The clients you work with may present a range of issues related to their mood disorders, often influenced by their personal situations, backgrounds, and societal factors.

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York state.
• At least two years of post-licensure experience, preferably with a focus on mood disorders.

We prefer candidates who have demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for mood disorders, particularly those familiar with telehealth practices. Experience working with diverse client populations and understanding the nuances of remote therapy delivery will be beneficial.
