Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to gain insight into patients' unique experiences and effectively tailor treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions designed specifically for each individual, considering their cultural context and personal history.
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions focusing on a variety of mental health concerns, reinforcing resilience and overall well-being in our patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and comprehensive care.
• Offer crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies, utilizing your strong crisis management skills.
• Educate patients and their loved ones about mental health conditions, available treatment avenues, and community resources to enhance resilience and understanding.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring all patient records reflect their progress and treatment plans.
• Participate actively in case conferences, team meetings, and training sessions focused on enhancing cultural competency and therapeutic techniques.
• Stay current on the latest research, evidence-based practices, and culturally relevant considerations in mental health therapy to continually enhance your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with a diverse client base, including individuals who identify as belonging to minority ethnic groups, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and new immigrants. This role offers the chance to apply culturally responsive therapeutic practices that acknowledge and address the unique needs of each patient. Your contributions will significantly enhance the mental wellness of those who may have previously faced barriers to accessing quality mental health care.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid and current licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches that value cultural competency.
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy utilizing inclusive techniques that foster an environment of trust and respect.
• Strong crisis intervention capabilities with a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that promote rapport-building with a diverse patient demographic.
• Competency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related computer applications.
• Commitment to ethical guidelines, maintaining client confidentiality, and establishing professional boundaries.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in mental health counseling, particularly with multicultural populations.
• Experience in developing and leading community outreach programs that promote mental health awareness and support.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and technology, enhancing service delivery in a remote setting.

Compensation and Benefits
