Job description

Job Summary
The Systems Administrator's primary job function is to exercise independent professional judgment in relation to the support and administration of the corporate data center infrastructure and associated software. The position develops and enacts procedures to perform problem analysis and resolution and plans for and responds to service outages and other problems.
Essential Functions: These functions are fundamental to the role and must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  1. Provides Tier 1-3 support for technical issues related to hardware, software, infrastructure, user accounts, and access controls.
  2. Administers Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and Entra ID to manage identity, access, and SSO across hybrid environments.
  3. Manages Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune endpoint configurations.
  4. Assists with or leads provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts in AD, Microsoft 365, and business systems.
  5. Supports onboarding and offboarding processes including equipment setup, permissions, and inventory logging.
  6. Oversees or assists with imaging, deploying, and maintaining desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  7. Administers Windows Server and virtual environments (VMware), ensuring uptime and performance.
  8. Manages patching, vulnerability remediation, and antivirus agent deployment across servers and endpoints.
  9. Participates in project planning and execution for IT initiatives, application upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
  10. Maintains server/storage documentation, configuration records, and system diagrams.
  11. Manages disaster recovery testing, backup administration, and lifecycle imaging solutions.
  12. Monitors systems and alerts; documents and escalates issues appropriately.
  13. Develops and maintains SOPs, KB articles, and documentation related to recurring support issues.
  14. Collaborates with vendors and external support on troubleshooting and implementation efforts.
  15. Works closely with the IT Service Desk to reduce repeat issues by addressing root causes.
  16. Mentors and trains other IT staff in standard operating procedures and best practices.
  17. Provides guidance to Service Desk and cross-functional IT staff to elevate technical knowledge and operational consistency.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Systems Administrator: Associates Degree in Computer Technology Systems, Business Computer Technology, Business, or relevant field.
  • Systems Administrator: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Experience or Certifications may be substituted for education.

Certification/Licensure:
  • Current Washington State Driver's License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.
  • System Administrator: CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent *Preferred, Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Associate (or equivalent) *Preferred, VMware Certified Associate or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals *Preferred

Experience:
  • Systems Administrator: 1+ years System Administration, Network Administration, Application Support, Service Desk, or other IT Operations & Support roles, including virtual infrastructure and Microsoft 365 platform administration. Equivalent combination of education and experience
