Job description

Seed Field Associate (Seasonal)
Twin Gardens a division of Illinois Foundation Seeds Inc. (IFSI) is an independent company delivering the leading research, product development, licensing, and production for the seed industry's sweet corn and field crops.
Illinois Foundation Seeds, Inc. is seeking highly motivated seasonal workers at our Twin Gardens Harvard, IL facility. This position will assist with seed production, harvesting and packaging efforts. The position is seasonal from March to December 18, 2026. Hours 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (subject to change due to weather and crop conditions).
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare fields/beds for planting by hand
  • Plant seed by hand
  • Weed by hand and with a hoe
  • Irrigate, tractor operation, motor vehicle transportation (if properly licensed),
  • Harvest seed by hand
  • Machine operated shelling, hand and machine sorting of shelled seed
  • Participate in end of the day clean up around farm

Qualifications / Knowledge Needed
  • Ability to begin work at assigned time shortly after daylight
  • Ability to work during light rain and in high humidity and temperatures ranging from 110 degrees to below 20 degrees F.
  • Ability to perform work that includes extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Perform some activities in stooped or crouched position for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • 3 months previous experience with hand harvesting produce/References required
