Job description

Game Mathematician (iGaming / Slot Games)
Onsite - Boca Raton, FL | Las Vegas, NV | San Diego, CA
Role Overview
We are seeking a Game Mathematician with direct iGaming experience to design and model the mathematical frameworks behind slot-style games.
This role is responsible for developing and validating game math models that determine Return to Player (RTP), volatility, hit frequency, and overall player engagement - balancing regulatory accuracy with compelling gameplay.
This is applied probability in a commercial gaming environment - not academic research.

What You'll Do
  • Design and build mathematical models for slot and casino-style games.
  • Define and calculate RTP targets, volatility curves, hit frequency, and payout structures.
  • Use simulation and combinatorics to validate game mechanics.
  • Write code (C#, C++, or Python) to model and verify theoretical outcomes.
  • Build and maintain advanced Excel models for probability and payout simulations.
  • Collaborate with producers and designers to optimize player experience while maintaining commercial viability.
  • Document game math clearly for internal stakeholders and regulatory review.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency across the full game lifecycle.

Required Experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of direct experience in iGaming, slot game design, or casino game mathematics.
  • Demonstrated experience calculating RTP and modeling volatility.
  • Strong applied knowledge of combinatorics, probability theory, and statistics.
  • Experience running simulations to validate theoretical outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent applied experience.
Candidates without direct gaming math experience will not be considered.

Technical Skills
  • Advanced Excel (probability modeling, simulations, large datasets).
  • Proficiency in at least one: C#, C++, or Python.
  • Experience building verification scripts and mathematical simulations.

What Makes You a Fit
  • You understand the balance between mathematical precision and player engagement.
  • You can translate complex models into clear business documentation.
  • You are comfortable adjusting mathematical variables based on feedback.
  • You thrive in cross-functional collaboration with producers and designers.
  • You enjoy solving complex probability problems in a fast-moving environment.

Why This Role Matters
The Game Mathematician is central to creating engaging, compliant, and commercially successful games. Your models directly influence player experience, revenue performance, and regulatory integrity.
