What is an Igaming Designer?

An Igaming Designer is a professional who creates engaging visuals, user interfaces, and interactive elements for online gaming platforms such as casinos, slots, and betting websites. Their responsibilities include designing game graphics, animations, and layouts to ensure an enjoyable user experience. Igaming Designers work closely with developers and product managers to bring creative concepts to life while adhering to industry regulations and standards. They often use specialized software and must stay updated on gaming trends to keep their designs fresh and competitive.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an iGaming Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an iGaming Designer, you need strong graphic design skills, a solid understanding of game mechanics, and experience with UI/UX principles, often supported by a degree in design or a related field. Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Unity, or HTML5, and familiarity with animation software, is typically required. Creativity, collaboration, and attention to detail are the soft skills that help designers produce engaging and user-friendly games. These skills ensure the development of visually appealing, intuitive, and immersive gaming experiences that attract and retain players in a competitive market.

How does an iGaming Designer typically collaborate with developers and product teams during the game development process?

As an iGaming Designer, close collaboration with developers and product teams is essential throughout the game development lifecycle. Designers usually participate in brainstorming sessions, share creative concepts, and provide detailed visual assets and specifications to ensure the game's look and feel align with the product vision. Regular feedback loops and iterative design reviews help address technical constraints and refine gameplay experiences, ensuring a seamless integration of art and functionality. Effective communication and adaptability are key, as requirements or priorities may shift based on testing outcomes and market trends.

At ARRISE, we know a thing or two about making great games. From concept to execution, we combine creativity with technical excellence to shape the future of player engagement, driving our business and industry forward.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're building a brand-new, US-based, fully remote game studio developing new slot games, and we're looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee the studio's full game development slate.
In this role, you'll collaborate with multiple teams across the studio to manage the game development process from start to finish to ensure the successful and timely delivery of multiple high-quality, high-performing games.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Manage, mentor, and grow the production team to meet the goals of the studio and its members
  • Support the production team and provide ongoing production support through all stages of the game development lifecycle, coordinating across internal and external teams to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned
  • Help establish and enforce production best practices, processes, and metrics across game projects
  • Analyze KPI data and provide solutions that target desired changes
  • Track, review, and discuss production priorities, timelines, and scope with the studio's General Manager and each team's Game Designer
  • Playtest and provide feedback on game math, mechanics, game flow, and visual presentation with an eye toward creating the best player experience possible
  • Regularly play competitors' games in the iGaming and land-based spaces to stay abreast of industry trends and new mechanics

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
  • 5+ years of production experience with real-money slot games for iGaming or land-based markets
  • Experience leading and managing teams in a game development environment
  • Degree in Game Production, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of the game development lifecycle and game production methodologies and the ability to teach and implement production methods across teams and disciplines
  • Strong project management skills including proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts to stakeholders across the globe
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging game mechanics, and player expectations
  • You should:
    • Be able to confidently coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
    • Be able to move comfortably between strategic and detailed levels
    • Bring strong organization and structure to a fast-moving environment
    • Have excellent problem-solving skills
    • Provide, accept, and act on feedback constructively
