Summary
The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for assisting Baker Distributing grow the Foodservice line of business sales by providing sales support, application support technical support, logistical information, pricing information, product information and inventory management for the foodservice dealers. The ultimate goal of this role is to assist with sales efforts within the assigned region.
Essential Duties/Accountabilities
  • Work closely with the Outside Foodservice Specialist
  • Assist Baker location in the contract territory with foodservice support
  • Understand the Foodservice vendors pricing structure and multipliers. Request quotes from vendors.
  • Utilize the Foodservice pricing profile sheet
  • Release bids to sales orders.
  • Track orders for timely job site delivery.
  • Create customer quotes and submittals utilizing AutoQuotes, the foodservice industry
  • pricing tool.
  • Understand the Foodservice vendors warranty procedures
  • Assist in the creation and execution of all Foodservice marketing and promotional efforts.
  • Distribute pricing updates and company specials applicable to the area to the appropriate customers on a consistent basis.
  • Review pricing profiles of all Foodservice accounts to insure we are maximizing gross profit margins.
  • Participate in Baker revitalization initiatives and implement associated action items.
  • Embrace and assist in Baker/Watsco technology initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
  • The employee is regularly required to work in a sales center, and a warehouse.
  • While performing the duties of this position, employee will travel to Company locations and works in sales centers and other warehouse/storeroom environments.
  • Position will require employee to travel between sites in all types of weather and employee may be subjected to all types of weather conditions

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand sit or walk, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee may use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Must be able to utilize heavy machinery.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years operational experience within the HVAC industry and product lines associated with HVAC, preferably in the operations of a wholesale HVAC equipment supply house.
  • Proficiency in air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level.
  • Experience in sales, operations, purchasing and inventory management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including sales, problem solving and customer service are absolutely required.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with skills to multi-task on different levels.
  • Must possess the attitude of wanting to learn, teach and lead.
  • Mechanical or Technical background.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
