Workers in this field may operate ice-making machinery, ensure ice quality, package and transport ice, and maintain equipment. These roles can also include tasks like resurfacing ice rinks, monitoring refrigeration systems, and handling customer orders. Safety and cleanliness are important aspects of the job, as well as the ability to work in cold environments.
