Job Title: Skating Instructor (Hockey & Figure Skating Instructors)
Location: Veterans Memorial Arena, West Fargo Park District, West Fargo, ND
Job Type: Part-Time, Seasonal

Join Our Team!
The West Fargo Park District is looking for skilled and enthusiastic Skating Instructors for the 2026 season. If you have a background in ice skating and enjoy teaching participants of all ages, this role is perfect for you!
Position Overview
As a Skating Instructor, you will lead and assist skating classes for ages 3 to adult. You'll demonstrate skills, supervise participants on the ice, and provide a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment. The program follows the Learn to Skate USA curriculum, and instructors are required to complete Learn to Skate Certification (provided by WFPD) upon hiring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Class Instruction: Teach and assist classes, demonstrating skating skills and providing hands-on guidance.
  • Participant Supervision: Ensure a safe environment for participants on the ice.
  • Lesson Planning: Collaborate in planning lessons and evaluate participant progress.
  • Skill Assessment: Help participants build their skating skills through structured lessons.
  • Safety and Enjoyment: Foster an enjoyable, supportive environment that encourages skill development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ice Skating Experience: Prior experience in hockey or figure skating.

Work Schedule
This seasonal role runs from June 1- August 31, with flexibility in hours and days. Continued employment through the following winter sessions as well.
  • Mondays: 5:15 pm to 8:20 pm
  • Thursdays: 5:15 pm to 7:15 pm
  • Additional Opportunities: Seeking substitutes as well.
