Job description

Job Location:

North Phoenix off 101 and I-17; flexible hours with overtime and weekends during peak season September-May.

Hourly Rate: $23.00 USD/hour during training period; Increase after 90days.

Job Overview:
Assist in the creation and assembly of custom ice sculpture displays for a variety of events, including corporate functions, sporting events, weddings, graduations, birthdays, and other special occasions throughout the Metropolitan Phoenix area. Responsibilities included the operation of specialized tools and machinery, with work on weekends and evenings during peak seasons for setup and breakdown of displays.

Seasonal and Flexible Work Schedule:
This role supports a high-demand, seasonal market, running from late September through May. Peak periods include major holidays such as Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, as well as the first few weeks of December for holiday parties. Summer months (June-August) are typically slow, with fluctuating hours based on demand. Overtime is common during peak times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate chainsaws, bandsaws, chisels, and other specialized ice carving tools
  • Harvest and shape large 300-pound ice blocks
  • Package and prepare ice displays for delivery and transport
  • Set up and dismantle ice sculptures at event locations
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working order
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times
  • Modify and repair existing ice sculptures as required
  • Operate a 3-axis CNC router when needed
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, lifting, and handling ice blocks weighing over 50 pounds

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift and handle objects weighing at least 50 pounds
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding
  • Experience using power tools and hand tools
  • Cabinetry or Ice sculpting experience is a plus but not required
  • CNC machine experience is a plus but not required
