Thrive Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Dallas, Texas.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Ortho MedSurg

Unit Information

The role is situated in a post-surgical unit specializing in orthopedic care. The unit is characterized by a high volume of patients, especially during mid-week periods.

  • Number of Beds: 22
  • Number of Staff: 36
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5 with ancillary support
  • Type of Equipment: PCA pump, Ice machine, Welch Allyn Vital sign machine, Tele box, IV pump
  • EMR: Meditech
  • Floating Requirement: Frequent within the system, with occasional floating to other units
Position Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must Have:
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
    • MedSurg experience
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Orthopedic experience
    • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
Typical Procedures

The unit performs a variety of surgical procedures, including:

  • Tarlov/meningeal cyst removal
  • Joint reconstruction
  • Hip and knee surgeries
  • Lumbar and cervical disc surgeries
  • Orthopedic spine surgeries
