Far Out is a New Zealand Style ice cream shop based in Boston, MA. Founded in 2019, Far Out aims to bring New Zealands signature Real Fruit Ice Cream to the rest of the world, one cone at a time. Guests choose a fruit from a wide variety of options to be mixed with a hard scooped ice cream base, creating a made-to-order finished product which stands apart from both traditional hard scooped and soft serve ice creams. Job Description

Far Out Ice Cream's Events & Catering program is hiring for the Supervisor position. This is a customer facing role in which you are bringing product to various events and serving it to our clients.
Events Supervisor Responsibilities:

  1. Staff all Far Out Events & Catering opportunities, including weekly markets and private events.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers and answering questions about our menu and offerings
  3. Safely drive our van to events venues
  4. Help the Events Manager to prepare for events, including prepping products, printing menus, and packing the van.
  5. Maintain Far Outs clean and professional appearance at each event
  6. Operate point-of-sale system and handle cash/card transactions
  7. Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure food safety and cleanliness
  8. Participate in team meetings and training sessions
  9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  1. 2-3 years of fast-paced food service experience required
  2. US Drivers License
    1. Preference for experience driving oversized vehicles
  3. Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality
  4. Coolness under pressure
  5. Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices
  6. Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
  7. Reliable transportation to our Brookline location
