Job description

Position Summary

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of dry ice products to customers using a 26’ box truck. This physically demanding role includes loading and unloading heavy totes, navigating routes using GPS, and maintaining strict adherence to DOT, MVR, and company safety standards. Drivers serve as a key point of contact with customers and must consistently demonstrate strong communication and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a 26’ box truck safely and in compliance with DOT and MVR regulations.
  • Load and unload dry ice, including moving totes weighing up to 2400 lbs. (with or without wheels).
  • Use pallet jacks and forklifts correctly and safely to move and position products when required.
  • Lift and carry up to 100 lbs. regularly throughout the workday.
  • Use GPS and route planning to efficiently complete deliveries.
  • Provide excellent customer service that promotes the Emory brand with clear, professional communication throughout the delivery process.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including:
    • Pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
    • Trip logs
    • Delivery confirmations and customer forms
  • Report vehicle repair needs, delivery issues, or customer feedback to supervisors promptly.
  • Participate in company-provided safety and operational training related to transportation and warehousing.
  • Follow all Emory policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines for handling dry ice, driving a commercial vehicle, and performing deliveries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Previous delivery driving experience preferred, especially with large box trucks or similar vehicles.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening successfully.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of GPS and route optimization.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy totes weighing up to 2400 lbs.
  • Detail-oriented with accurate recordkeeping skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and following instructions.

Work Conditions

  • Physically demanding environment with frequent lifting and maneuvering of heavy materials.
  • Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Regular handling of dry ice (extremely cold temperatures).
  • Flexible work hours required, including potential overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Note: This is a safety-sensitive position and employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and MVR check.
