What role you will play in our team
ExxonMobil is seeking a Plant Operator located in Tioga, ND.
A Plant Operator must have the ability to acquire process knowledge and understand all aspects of plant processing fundamentals, PSM requirements, relining P&ID's, PSSR of equipment and systems, must work in extreme temperatures, and work well in a team setting. Adhere to policies and procedures and embrace a strong safety culture.
What you will do
  • Responsible for plant log entries of gauges, dials, pressures, temperatures, gas throughput, liquid production, fuel consumption and other shift activities
  • Assist Maintenance and I&E Techs with routine maintenance as well as major projects
  • Observe and ensure compliance of operating and maintenance procedures as well as safety regulations in accordance with company policies
  • Complete all necessary monthly/daily reports as well as operational reports including but not limited to environmental, safety, near misses, downtime, and plant logs
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on various types of plant equipment, such as engines, compressors, dehydrators, turbines, pumps, and other plant equipment; communicates findings to supervisors or Operators
  • Start/stop operating equipment such as compressors, process skids, etc.
  • Perform general housekeeping on operating and idle equipment
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant, equipment, and systems
  • Be trained in PSMS and align with ExxonMobil safety expectations.
  • Drive safely and follow all driving regulations.

About you
  • Driver's license and clean MVR
  • Pass pre-employment D&A screening and background check
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Available for overtime and callouts during scheduled workdays
  • The position of Plant Operator (Tech) you are applying for has been internally designated by ExxonMobil as safety sensitive / safety critical.
  • Accordingly, if you receive a conditional offer of employment for such a position, you will be required to undergo a pre-employment process, which includes, among other things, a background check.
  • Depending on the presence of drug or alcohol related convictions on your record (if any), you may not be eligible for hire into this position.
  • In addition, if you pass the pre-employment process and are hired, you will be expected to undergo random drug and alcohol screening in addition to other requirements associated with the position.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management of Natural Gas Plant
  • Knowledge in operating procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding in process manuals, C&E, mechanical integrity, interdepartmental/contractor management, emergency response, and compliance audits
  • Knowledge in PSSR of equipment
  • Knowledge in DCS operations
  • Understanding pf process piping equipment, P&ID flow path, instrumentation, control systems, and safety systems
  • Industry experience, Knowledge in basic computer programs
  • Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures
  • Must be able to communicate, and work with other personnel, departments, and crafts including third party
  • Previous experience in permitting and Lock out Tag out
  • Mechanical skills associated with maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, repair and operations of natural gas processing equipment and related components

Pre-Employment Testing Guidance
This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires pre-employment testing. After applying you will receive a pop up giving you access to the assessment. You may take the assessment at that time or utilize the instructions below to access the assessment at a time convenient for you. Note that the assessment must be completed by the deadline in order for you to be considered for the O&M position for which you have applied.
IMPORTANT
The O&M test has been revised. Effective December 1, 2021 ALL candidates must complete the revised assessment. Even if you have tested within the last 365 days (passed or failed), if you tested before December 1, 2021, you must complete the revised assessment to be considered for this O&M opportunity. Failure to complete the assessment by the deadline will result in your disqualification from consideration for this position. The assessment is the same for all O&M requisitions. If you have completed the assessment after December 1, 2021, your assessment results will be mapped to this requisition when you try to access the test. Test passed candidates will be screened by the hiring team and a subset invited for interview. Note that a satisfactory result on the assessment does not guarantee an interview.
