Work EnvironmentFrozen, icy surfaces, often on lakes or ice tracksSnow-covered roads, off-road snowy terrains
Industry UsageMotorsport events, winter safety training, ice racingWinter travel, off-road adventures, snow sports support

Ice Driving involves navigating vehicles on icy surfaces, requiring specialized skills and training to handle low traction conditions. Snow Driving focuses on maneuvering vehicles through snowy terrains, often with different techniques suited for softer, snow-covered surfaces. While both roles demand winter driving expertise, Ice Driving emphasizes control on slick, icy surfaces, whereas Snow Driving centers on traversing snow-covered terrains safely.

  • Load and unload dry ice, including moving totes weighing up to 2400 lbs. (with or without wheels).
  • Use pallet jacks and forklifts correctly and safely to move and position products when required.
  • Lift and carry up to 100 lbs. regularly throughout the workday.
  • Use GPS and route planning to efficiently complete deliveries.
  • Provide excellent customer service that promotes the Emory brand with clear, professional communication throughout the delivery process.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including:
    • Pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
    • Trip logs
    • Delivery confirmations and customer forms
  • Report vehicle repair needs, delivery issues, or customer feedback to supervisors promptly.
  • Participate in company-provided safety and operational training related to transportation and warehousing.
  • Follow all Emory policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines for handling dry ice, driving a commercial vehicle, and performing deliveries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Previous delivery driving experience preferred, especially with large box trucks or similar vehicles.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening successfully.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of GPS and route optimization.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy totes weighing up to 2400 lbs.
  • Detail-oriented with accurate recordkeeping skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and following instructions.

Work Conditions

  • Physically demanding environment with frequent lifting and maneuvering of heavy materials.
  • Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Regular handling of dry ice (extremely cold temperatures).
  • Flexible work hours required, including potential overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Note: This is a safety-sensitive position and employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and MVR check.
