Job description

Description Responsible for assisting the Recreation Manager, Recreation Supervisor, and other staff as directed with various operations-related issues by performing a variety of professional, clerical, and technical duties relating to the management and general operations of the Denison on Ice Program. This includes taking a lead role over associate staff within the Denison on Ice Program. Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following duties are typical for this position.

These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competence and satisfactory performance of these duties. Other duties may be required and assigned.

1. Performs a variety of general management duties including 2. Ensure legal waivers are submitted, kept, and recorded in a timely manner 3.

Responsible for all transactions and financial reporting 4. Responsible for the opening and closing of the ice rink 5. Coordinate and lead ice rink associates and volunteers to ensure quality customer service 6.

Assist with scheduling as needed 7. Enforce skating rules and rink procedures 8. Responsible for safety and compliance 9.

Responsible for coordinating emergency response procedures 10. Reports incidents, customer and staff issues, and inventory needs to supervisors. 11.

Collaborates with the maintenance staff to ensure the facility is prepared and operational for customers 12. Ensure proper policies are being followed from staff. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1.

Knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations in city government. 2. Must be self-motivated and capable of functioning effectively in an independent situation, while maintaining a sense of the overall goals in the Parks and Recreation Department.

3. Must have an appreciation and understanding of a customer service-oriented environment. 4.

Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. 5. Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, and proposals.

6. Ability to plan, promote, and organize basic ice rink operations. 7.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departments, staff, public, employees, and other associated organizations. 8. Ability to quickly count payments and ticket sales.

9. Ability to train, direct, and supervise the work of subordinate employees. 10.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions in a dynamic environment.
