Service Deli Clerk: Ice Cream Clerk

Department: Deli

Supervisor: Deli Manager

Hours: Full Time/Part Time

Position Summary

Serving our guests in a cheerful and helpful manner, displaying and restocking product and assisting with preparation of deli items.ย A great personality, good organizational skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently are requirements for this position.

Job Duties

  • Helps to maintain a clean and safe environment to work and shop.
  • Effective communication with team members and supervisors to build and maintain morale.
  • Knowledge of company policies, programs, and procedures.ย 
  • Promote a harassment-free work and shopping environment, and immediately reports any potential harmful situation.
  • Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department.
  • Proper product handling, case cutting, price marking, rotation, facing, and display of merchandise.
  • Follow through and achieve all company policies, programs, and directives.
  • Is a team player and able to do the jobs/tasks asked by others.
  • Maintain quality standards within the department and store.
  • Assist guests to help improve their shopping experience.
  • Completes tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Provides excellent guest service by acknowledging guests promptly and taking their orders accurately and in a friendly manner.ย ย 
  • Assists in the displaying and restocking of deli/ice cream products.ย Ensures shelves are filled, faced, and cleaned.ย 
  • Maintains the highest standards in relation to stock rotation and product freshness
  • Assists the department to maintain proper freshness, pricing, code dating, tare and merchandising of products in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Helps maintain product and cost control in conjunction with company objectives to maximize department sales and profits and minimize losses.

Experience:

Minimum Age: 18 Years or older

Equipment use: Ice Cream Machine, Ice Cream Scooping, Cash Register, knives.

Physical Abilities: Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, twist, and bend; repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip, and balance; occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl.ย Use of step stool and ladder. Lifting 60+ pounds and may include floor to shoulder and overhead.

ย 

Communication: Ability to write, speak, hear and/or understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to team members and guests' needs.ย Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.

Education: Food Handler's Permit required.
