Job description

Position Title: Corporate Inventory Control Clerk


Department: Inventory Control


Supervisor: Inventory Controller


FLSA: Non-exempt


Position Summary:

The Corporate Inventory Control Clerk is the entry point to the analytical work of Inventory Control, and this position works closely with Inventory Controllers to ensure the efficient operation of the Inventory Control department. The key focus is to maintain accurate records of inventory being received into and shipped out of the expansive network of distribution centers. Follow-up and communication with IC Supervisor and IC team to keep aware of activities and discrepancies is of paramount importance. A keen curiosity for finding missing inventory, identifying trends and communicating results is critical.  


Essential Functions:

  1. High level of attention to detail while comparing BOLs vs systemic receiving to troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records.
  2. Reports shortages and discrepancies timely.
  3. Communicates efficiently and concisely over the phone, in person and through e-mail to coordinate returns, rejections.
  4. Accurately inputs a high volume of information into the computer concerning incoming and outgoing merchandise in a timely manner.
  5. Maintain updated and accurate receiving records.
  6. Nurture positive relationships with our 3PLs, buyers and stores to provide customer service as needed.
  7. Works well in a team setting, specifically with other departments such as the buyers.
  8. Ensures friendly, efficient and professional customer service.


Other Responsibilities:

  1. Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned. Including, but not limited to running weekly reports effectively, and in a timely manner


Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  1. Approx. 1 year similar experience
  2. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, cross docks, vendors and buyers.
  3. Computer Literate (Excel/Word)
  4. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  5. Commitment to company values and strong customer orientation.
  6. Fast paced and highly detailed environment
