POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Systems Admin executes the planning, implementation, and management of our technology infrastructure. This role ensures robust data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include maintaining computer systems, communications, network connectivity, and implementing new technology initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of IT Systems, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

o Oversee and optimize the troubleshooting and resolution processes for hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues across all devices and systems.

o Execute strategies for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, applications, and software updates to ensure system stability and security.

o Administer and manage user accounts and permissions across various systems like Active Directory and IBM I, ensuring compliance and security protocols are met.

o Direct the setup and maintenance of audio/visual equipment, providing guidance and support for seamless meeting and presentation experiences.

o Provide remote user support and VPN connectivity solutions, ensuring reliable access for distributed teams.

o Monitor and ensure timely resolution of IT tickets and maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of issues and solutions.

o Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert guidance and collaborating with senior IT staff or vendors as needed.

o Execute routine system maintenance schedules, including backups, updates, and patching, to ensure optimal system performance and data integrity.

o Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent disruptions.

o Manage and maintain a comprehensive inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring accurate tracking and efficient resource allocation.

o Lead the planning, implementation, and deployment of new IT systems and technologies, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.

o Ensure the clear and concise communication of technical information to non-technical stakeholders, facilitating understanding and informed decision-making.

o Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with employees and other departments, promoting a positive and cooperative team environment.

o Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving IT needs.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· IT Infrastructure Management: Deep understanding of networks, servers, operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, IBM-I), hardware, and software.

· Cybersecurity: Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk assessment, data protection, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and compliance regulations.

· Cloud Computing: Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managing cloud services.

· System Administration: Experience with essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, email systems, and enterprise backup/recovery procedures.

· Troubleshooting: Advanced ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

· Emerging Technologies: Awareness and understanding of new and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, Blockchain) and their potential impact.

· Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, provide clear instructions to subordinates, and collaborate effectively.

· Decision-Making: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions, often under pressure, regarding IT solutions, resource allocation, and problem resolution.

· Change Management: Ability to lead teams through technological transitions, manage resistance, and ensure smooth adoption of new systems or processes.


QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (e.g., engineering technologies, business administration with an IT focus).

· Several years of progressive experience in various IT roles, demonstrating a strong technical foundation.

· Certifications preferred:

IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

CompTIA Security+
