Director, IS Applications

Location: Yardley, PA
Reports to: VP, Information Systems

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Director of I.S. Applications to lead the development and support of core business systems, with a strong emphasis on IBMi (AS400) and Microsoft technologies.

This role combines technical leadership and active delivery, ensuring stability of critical systems while driving practical modernization and integration across the enterprise.

This is a hands-on leadership role-not an architect-only or strategy-only position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team supporting and enhancing core enterprise applications across IBMi and Microsoft platforms
  • Oversee development, support, and delivery of solutions supporting plant and corporate operations
  • Drive improvements in system performance, reliability, and business processes
  • Lead integration across IBMi, Microsoft solutions, ERP (SAP), and EDI environments
  • Stay actively involved in solution design, troubleshooting, and delivery execution
  • Ensure all application development and changes meet SOX compliance requirements, including proper controls, documentation, and audit readiness

  • Accountable for ensuring SOX-compliant development, change management, and system controls; must have hands-on experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment
  • Working knowledge of responsible AI and ability to apply AI tools (e.g., Copilot, automation, analytics) to improve processes while maintaining security and governance.
  • Must be a hands-on leader actively engaged in development and solutioning-not a purely oversight role

Education

  • Bachelor's degree is required. A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent hands-on experience in IBMi and Microsoft application development will be considered
