Role: Data Engineer
Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust data solutions using IBM Datastage, Informatica, DBT, and modern cloud platforms. The candidate will play a key role in building ETL/ELT pipelines, managing data assets, and ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability of data systems in both on-premises (Netezza) and cloud (AWS S3, Snowflake) environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, analyze, and develop ETL data assets using IBM Datastage, Informatica, or DBT.
  • Build and optimize ELT transformations leveraging DBT and Python.
  • Create and manage data pipelines supporting CI/CD and continuous data integration workflows.
  • Collaborate with project managers and business analysts to define and document technical requirements.
  • Participate in logical and physical data modeling activities to ensure accurate data mapping and integration.
  • Develop, test, enhance, debug, and support data assets and applications across business units.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and adherence to governance standards.
  • Support migration initiatives between on-premises databases and cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, perform code reviews, and optimize data workflows.
  • Implement and maintain ETL/ELT solutions using diverse development tools and environments.

  • Programming Languages: Python, SQL
