IBM Integration Bus (IIB) Developer – Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IBM Integration Bus (IIB) Developer to design, develop, and maintain integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IBM IIB, API development, and message-based integrations using MQ, SOAP, REST, and other middleware technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, and deploy integration solutions using IBM Integration Bus (IIB) and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
  • Design message flows, message models, and transformation logic using ESQL, Java, and XSLT.
  • Work with WebSphere MQ, HTTP, SOAP, and RESTful services to ensure smooth data exchange between systems.
  • Develop and optimize message flows, sub-flows, and reusable components.
  • Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of integration applications.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and application teams to define integration requirements.
  • Implement security standards, logging, and exception handling in message flows.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices, coding standards, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Support production deployments and resolve integration-related issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in IBM Integration Bus (IIB) / IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) development.
  • Strong knowledge of ESQL, Java, and XML/XSLT.
  • Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ, HTTP, SOAP, and RESTful web services.
  • Familiarity with JSON, XSD, WSDL, and other message formats.
  • Experience in error handling, debugging, and performance optimization of message flows.
  • Hands-on experience with version control tools (Git, SVN) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and writing SQL queries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of IBM API Connect and Cloud Pak for Integration.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven messaging.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • IBM Integration certification is a plus.
