Reports ToCampus Principal Work Year Days184 + 21 Extra Days (Total Days 205)Primary Purpose

Manage and coordinate the implementation and continued success of the IB/DP programme and AVID program at the campus level.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:Bachelor's Degree

Valid Texas Teaching Certification

Texas Administrator Certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:ย ย A comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Program (IB)/Diploma Programme (DP) and the AVID program

Thorough understanding of school operations

Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness

Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data

Ability to coordinate District functions

Experience:ย ย Minimum three years of teaching experience

Teaching experience and training with the IB program preferred

Teaching experience and training with the AVID program preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties

IB/DP Program Implementation and Coordination:

Manage and coordinate the implementation of the IB/DP program.

Ensure cooperative interaction of all staff in the implementation of IB/DP program.

Ensure that all regulations set by the IB concerning programs and procedures are carried out properly and all deadlines are met.

Lead and implement DP course content and meet with DP teachers on a regular basis to provide for concurrency of course content and establish deadlines for internal and external assessments.

IB/DP Communication and Representation:

Promote IB/DP within and outside the school.

Maintain communication between school and IB.

Provide updated IB materials to teachers, students, and parents.

Maintain open communication with school administrator(s) and keep them informed of DP developments.

Meet regularly with IB district representatives.

Distribute IB/DP information to district personnel, community members, school personnel, parents, and students.

Lead discussions with students and families including 4-year planning, programmatic information, and scheduling.

IB/DP Staff Development and Support:

Responsible for organizing required IB training for all staff.

Coordinate teacher participation in DP workshops and professional development activities.

Offer pedagogical expertise and leadership for staff involved with DP.

IB/DP Administrative and Compliance:

Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.

Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Frisco ISD.

AVID Program Leadership and Implementation:

Promote the AVID philosophy, ensuring all students have access to courses of rigor.

Lead, alongside the principal, the development of an active AVID Site Team.

Serve as the liaison between the Site Team, principal, and district director, and between the AVID counselor and AVID elective teachers.

Collaborate with the AVID Site Team and different content areas to articulate and implement AVID instructional methodologies.

Manage the certification and data collection processes ensuring to involve the principal and Site Team members in evidence collection and data analysis.

Collaborate with the principal and Site Team to develop a plan for recruitment and selection of students for the AVID elective.

Recruit and counsel students about the AVID elective and 4-year planning.

AVID Staff Support and Professional Development:

Advocate for and facilitate data-informed professional learning on AVID methodologies for school and district staff.

Train and coach AVID elective tutors.

Meet regularly with district AVID team including principals, district personnel, and AVID campus coordinators.

Attend and complete the AVID Leadership Professional Learning Journey for Site Coordinators through AVID Summer Institute, Ignite, or Path to Schoolwide offerings.

AVID Community and College/Career Readiness:

Collaborate with the district director and site leadership to arrange college and career awareness activities such as field trips, guest speakers, and family nights.
