Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, teacher training, instructional coaching, and ensuring alignment with school and program standards.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The following outlines what your core duties and responsibilities will be for this position and provides a sample overview of what your day-to-day may look like.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
● Assume responsibility for IB curriculum implementation and development, aligning with the school’s mission.
● Collaboratively develop and oversee the strategic plan as part of the Academic Leadership Team.
● Lead evaluation processes, assisting in strategic planning and review cycles.
● Initiate and facilitate professional training programs, including professional learning communities, interdisciplinary unit development, and current pedagogy and assessment practices.
● Support and develop coaching cycles with teachers to enhance instructional practices and student learning outcomes.
● Provide instructional leadership through mentoring, peer support, goal evaluation, and team-teaching opportunities.
● Develop and implement policies aligned with IPS and IB values, including those related to language, assessment, inclusion, and academic honesty.
● Ensure compliance with IB requirements through the development of interdisciplinary units, syllabus outlines, and integration of global contexts.
● Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding IB procedures, events, policies, and program progress, using various communication methods.
● Collaborate with teachers to enhance instructional practices and student learning outcomes.
● Guide & support teachers in designing, writing, and revising MYP units and using the MYP framework (inquiry, conceptual understanding, Approaches to Learning skills) using Toddle.
● Facilitate collaborative feedback and instructional rounds using protocols aligned with IB’s Approaches to Teaching and Learning.
● Support the development of weekly advisory lessons to ensure they align with the Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning skills.
● Attend and lead relevant meetings, such as district meetings and instructional team meetings.
● Assist in student recruitment and retention efforts, engaging with feeder schools and participating in recruitment fairs.
● Facilitate presentations and activities that showcase student learning and achievement.
● Collaborate with other coordinators to ensure program continuity.
● Teach courses as required and support students’ academic growth.
● Monitor assessment practices to ensure they follow MYP criteria and expectations.
● Coordinate the preparation for IB evaluation visit.
● Oversee programme documentation, including policies, units, and IB evaluation materials.

On a regular day, as the IB Coordinator/Instructional Coach, you might:
● Meet with the Leadership Team to plan for Professional Development & PLCs.
● Facilitate PLCs focused on improving teaching and learning.
● Review with the building leaders to identify teachers needing additional support with their unit plans.
● Schedule time to meet with teachers during their prep to meet and share resources for Unit Plan creation.
● Work with teachers on Toddle to put units together, create learning experiences/assessments, and grading.
● Use the IPS Coaching Framework to support teachers with instructional practices by conducting regular classroom observations, providing constructive feedback, and initiating reflective discussions.
● Collaborate with teachers to set achievable goals and develop strategies for continuous improvement, tailored to each educator's needs and the diverse learning styles of students

● Valid State of Indiana Teacher’s License.
