Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day operations of computer platforms across on-prem and cloud environments (GCP).

  • Assist in provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of virtual machines in GCE and VMware environments.

  • Support hybrid infrastructure operations, ensuring availability, performance, and stability of systems.

  • Participate in execution of infrastructure and migration activities (on-prem to cloud, cloud-to-cloud) under guidance of senior engineers.

  • Assist with IBM Power Systems (Power Series) environments, including AIX-based workloads where applicable.

  • Perform routine system administration tasks including patching, updates, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

  • Work closely with middleware, application, and DevOps teams to support platform requirements.

  • Assist in troubleshooting incidents and performing root cause analysis with guidance from senior engineers.

  • Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.

  • Ensure adherence to security policies, compliance requirements, and configuration standards.

  • Participate in on-call rotation, providing after-hours support for production systems and incident response.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Foundational knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly Compute Engine (GCE).

  • Basic understanding of cloud and on-prem infrastructure concepts, including virtualization and networking.

  • Familiarity with VMware environments (vSphere/vCenter) and virtual machine lifecycle management.

  • Exposure to IBM Power Systems (Power Series) and AIX environments is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE).

  • Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) and automation concepts.

  • Ability to follow operational procedures and implement predefined technical solutions.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production support environment.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (applications, middleware, networking).

  • Strong attention to detail and ownership in executing assigned tasks.

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow technical skillsets across cloud and infrastructure domains.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
