About your role:

The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties responsible for completing well-defined I&C engineering tasks with frequent technical oversight and guidance from more experienced engineers and supervisor(s).

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities

  • Produces I&C engineering deliverables defined by the RACI (responsible, accountable, consulted and informed) in alignment with company standards and procedures.
  • Collaborates with project team members on interdisciplinary technical deliverables, as defined by the RACI.
  • Collaborates and communicates with the project team regarding overall project progress and status of I&C-specific deadlines and deliverables through internal/external kickoff meetings, weekly status meetings, lead reports, design review meetings, and model review meetings.
  • Conducts technical collaboration by reviewing deliverables with peers and supervisors as questions arise and ensuring quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures are performed on deliverables generated.
  • Participates in department meetings and training, as required.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Work Hours:

Company Hours

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs.

40 Hour Work Week

Monday through Friday, hours may vary with the workload.

Evenings/Weekends/OT

As needed to satisfy the requirements of the position.

I&C Engineer 4

12+ years OR Professional Engineering License and 10+ years.

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.

This position should be able to work independently and seek out guidance when required and without prompting. They will collaborate with the project team(s) and other departments to drive deliverables to completion, proactively address issues, and ensure discipline-specific work is completed in alignment with the project schedule, budget, and scope of work. They can provide QA/QC on all department deliverables and all inter-departmental checks. They can manage small or single-discipline projects when required.

Shares industry knowledge and skillset through mentorship of technical deliverables associated with projects by assisting others in understanding calculations, design guidelines, and industry standards, as well as provides feedback and mentoring to others via redlines and QA/QC comments on deliverables.

Generates proposals, leads small or single discipline projects, builds engineering hour budgets for the Company, and completes invoicing for assigned projects.

The position has immediate oversight of team members most of the time performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads.

  • Ability to self-direct and have a sense of responsibility for own tasks, deliverables, and timelines.

Supervisory Expectations:

  • The position does not have any regular responsibility for overseeing or supervising the work of other team members.

Independence of Action

  • Work is closely monitored by supervisor/manager/leader; detailed instructions and procedures are generally provided.
