Job description

Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), plays a critical role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic decision-making across the organization. This position partners closely with business leaders to provide actionable financial insights, develop financial models, analyze performance trends, and support budgeting and long-range planning processes. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with business acumen and the ability to communicate complex financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Position reports into our Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid schedule in office Tuesday - Thursday.

Essential Functions

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting processes for assigned business areas.
  • Support the development of annual operating plans and long-range strategic plans.
  • Analyze key business drivers and financial assumptions to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Develop scenario analyses and sensitivity models to support executive decision-making.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial performance reports and executive dashboards.
  • Analyze variances between actual results, forecasts, budgets, and prior-year performance.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting financial performance.
  • Present findings and recommendations to business partners and senior leadership.

Business Partnership

  • Serve as the finance business partner for assigned departments and functional leaders.
  • Provide financial guidance to support operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist business leaders in evaluating investments, cost savings opportunities, and resource allocation decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions and provide objective recommendations to improve financial outcomes.

Modeling & Strategic Support

  • Build and maintain complex financial models for forecasting, capital investments, pricing, labor planning, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support business case development and ROI analysis for projects and investments.
  • Evaluate financial implications of new programs, partnerships, and growth opportunities.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve FP&A processes, reporting efficiency, and financial systems.
  • Automate reporting and analysis through advanced Excel, Power BI, Workday/Adaptive or other analytics tools.
  • Support enhancements to planning and reporting systems.
  • Promote best practices in financial modeling and financial governance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial analysis, or related roles.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with financial planning systems (e.g., OneStream, Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive, SAP BPC, Oracle EPM).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting retail, consumer products, manufacturing, or distribution businesses.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other analytics tools.
  • Experience working with large datasets and ERP systems
