Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Hydraulic/Hydrology Engineer/Project Manager at our Phoenix office. Preference is a licensed engineer in the state of Arizona with minimum 5 years of experience. Experience in the Phoenix area is desired. The role will work collaboratively in a team environment providing hydrologic and hydraulic analysis modeling and design for public infrastructure and flood control projects.

Education: Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)


Duties:

  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using a wide range of models, including HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, HEC-HMS, and FLO-2D.
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting.
  • Research jurisdictional drainage requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
  • Oversee production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Perform data management and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Work as a member of a multi-discipline team.
  • Mentor EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice.
  • Conduct site visits and document findings.
  • Write and coordinate preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents.

  • Productively collaborates with PMs and encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other.
  • Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures that quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
  • Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.
  • Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects.
  • Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality.
  • Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish tasks.
  • Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Assists Principal on ensuring proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.
  • Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).

  • Professional Licensed PE required.

Physical Requirements:
