FTE: 0.50 (Part-Time)
Summary:
Coordinates specialty services such as orthopedic, ophthalmology, neuro, general, GYN, urology, plastics, ENT, CV, cardiac, or minimally invasive surgery (including advanced da Vinci and Hybrid). Performs duties as a circulating nurse or scrub person. Assists in establishing and promoting clinical standards for the surgery service, as well as staff education in surgery/AORN member standards to support patient care objectives.
Previous RN experience in a Hospital Acute Care setting within the past three years is mandatory along with OR/Surgery experience in all specialty areas. Must be able to circulate in all specialty areas, scrubbing experience is a plus. Solid interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills required. Must be able to delegate and make decisions that are fair and in line with the vision and mission of BHMC. Ability to be a resource for staff and physicians with positive relationship building. Must be a patient advocate and be able to function in a highly intense environment.
Education:
* Associate's degree in a Nursing Program from an Accredited School of Nursing
Experience:
* Three years of related experience in covered specialties
Credentials:
* State of FL Registered Nurse
* American Heart or Red Cross BLS and ACLS (current)
* Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)
* Member of Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN)
