We are adding anOperations Accountant to our NGL Team! This is a hybrid position requiring individuals to work in office 10 days per month; or as needed for business needs.

A Day in the Life:

The Operations Accountant is responsible for completing operational accounting tasks to ensure proper reporting from banks and administrative systems into the general ledger. This role prepares moderately complex daily journal entries, completes reconciliations as assigned, and recommends process improvements to drive efficiencies. The Operations Accountant requires the ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently while leveraging strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail to execute recurring accounting tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Reconcile moderately complex general ledger transactions, and incoming check deposits for policy administration systems.
    • Reconcile various general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
    • Prepare all reporting and reconciliations for assigned reinsurance arrangements.
    • Track and report unclaimed property for assigned company.
    • Identify and recommend process improvements and operational efficiencies.
    • Research discrepancies, identify the root cause, and determine the course of action to resolve. Escalate complex issues to senior-level team members as needed.
    • Provide backup support to other team members with daily tasks as needed.
    • Provide partners with required administrative reporting as assigned.
    • Perform other projects as assigned.



    Essential to Your Success:


      • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting systems
      • Demonstrated intermediate accounting knowledge to prepare general ledger journal entries and assigned account reconciliations
      • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with NGL employees, management, and external parties
      • Ability to exercise sound judgment, and to ensure effective and timely delivery of services
      • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret financial data
      • Ability to identify internal process improvements to optimize efficiencies
      • Highly organized with strong time management skills
      • Proven analytical skills with ability to conduct independent research and analysis, identify issues, formulate options, and make recommendation

      Education Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.


      Years of Experience:

      • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of two years of accounting experience is required.
      • Experience working with an insurance policy administration system preferred.
