Position Summary:


The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating service operations across residential and/or commercial projects. This includes managing field staff, dispatching service calls, maintaining communication with clients, ensuring quality control, and supporting project profitability. In commercial roles, this position may also include increased project complexity, larger-scale coordination, and additional compliance responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming service requests via phone, email, or communication platforms.
  • Dispatch and coordinate service technicians, vehicles, and materials based on workload.
  • Create and manage daily and on-call technician schedules.
  • Estimate service and small project costs and generate appropriate billing.
  • Process and manage service tickets and work orders.
  • Coordinate with admin staff to ensure accurate job setup, permitting, and documentation.
  • Communicate with homeowners, builders, or general contractors to confirm work schedules.
  • Conduct field audits or site visits when needed to support field performance and client satisfaction.
  • Manage material procurement and ensure accurate job costing and invoicing.
  • Maintain project records, reports, meeting summaries, and billing logs.
  • Coordinate emergency service responses and warranty work.
  • Track and follow up on service payments and outstanding receivables.
  • Commercial-specific (when applicable):
  • Lead weekly jobsite meetings and manage subcontractor relationships.
  • Create and track RFIs, submittals, and detailed schedules.
  • Develop and interpret layout drawings (e.g., feeder conduit, fixtures) using 2D tools or Bluebeam.
  • Monitor project profit and loss (P&L), ensuring delivery per contract terms.
  • Support BIM coordination and code compliance in larger facilities.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Required: 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred: Trade licenses or certifications (e.g., fire alarm, low voltage, EPA).
  • Required: Strong knowledge of electrical drawings and applicable codes.
  • Required: Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, service platforms).
  • Required: Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  • Commercial-specific (when applicable):
  • Required: Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and commercial code applications.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of experience in residential and/or commercial electrical construction.
  • Preferred: Experienced in RFIs, submittals, layout drawings, and job costing.
  • Preferred: Experience managing commercial service projects from $10,000 to $500,000+.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit at a desk and/or computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
