The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician performs preventive maintenance, leads field teams, and supports operational efficiency through effective communication and coordination. This position requires adherence to company policies and standards while contributing to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction within assigned facilities and regions.

The Facility Services HVAC-Refrigeration team ensures Walmart locations operate efficiently through expert installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems. Team members follow safety protocols and regulatory standards while using specialized equipment and digital tools. They collaborate to resolve technical issues, support preventive maintenance, and uphold operational excellence. By maintaining reliable systems and managing resources effectively, the team contributes to a safe and comfortable environment for customers and associates. What you'll do:

• Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, reach-ins, and rack systems to minimize downtime.
• Conduct inspections and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations, including refrigerant handling and documentation.
• Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
• Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate records using digital tools.
• Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
• Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration and compliance.
• Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Knowledge of EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols and OSHA safety standards.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring technicians on technical procedures and safety practices.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers and team members.
• Proficient in using digital tools for scheduling, inventory tracking, and service documentation.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles safely.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. Preferred Qualifications...
