Job description

As a member of our hospitality team, the primary responsibility of an HVAC Mechanic is to operate and maintain central HVAC equipment and mechanical systems in the hotel by ensuring the proper functioning of the systems and promptly addressing any issues or repairs that arise. This role follows specified operating procedures and maintains detailed records of equipment operations and is responsible for accurately recording equipment readings, temperatures, pressures, and any other relevant data. A crucial part of this role is to promptly respond to HVAC service calls to ensure the comfort of guests, conduct routine preventive maintenance tasks, and diagnose and fix mechanical failures.

  • Service, repair, and maintain HVAC systems throughout the property, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet required standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in handling various HVAC products, including small and large equipment, from installation to end-of-life maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Perform all duties of an HVAC Mechanic, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Manage electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems, promptly troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  • Clean, adjust, and repair HVAC systems to maintain optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Adhere to service standards, work instructions, and owners' requirements to ensure quality and safety in all HVAC operations.
  • Respond to guest repair requests related to heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, promptly attending to and resolving issues.
  • Make periodic rounds to all areas of the property, inspecting and maintaining operating logs to monitor system conditions.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of refrigerant systems, control systems, and reclaim refrigerant while ensuring proper regulatory paperwork.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment types when required, including plumbing, electrical components, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, electrical switches, and bulbs.
  • Plan and implement an approved program for scheduled maintenance to ensure the long-term functionality of HVAC units and refrigeration systems.
  • Recharge a variety of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, selecting the appropriate refrigerant for each system.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed to support efficient operations.
