Description
ENCON Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our growing team. The Commercial HVAC Estimator plays a critical role in the pre-construction process by preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning projects.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
  • Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to accurately determine project scope.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive project estimates.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions while maintaining project quality and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field personnel, and leadership throughout the estimating process.
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals in accordance with project requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, HVAC technologies, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations.
  • Assist with project handoffs to operations teams following contract award.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience preferred, with a focus on commercial HVAC projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, and related construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and technical documents.
  • Experience performing material takeoffs and developing detailed project estimates.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and tools
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
