General Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Plumbing Estimator with prior plumbing industry experience to join our growing team. This role is responsible for evaluating bid specifications, reviewing blueprints and construction documents, and preparing accurate, competitive estimates for residential plumbing projects.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, estimating experience, and the ability to create plumbing isometrics and gas riser diagrams. This position requires both estimating and technical layout capability in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements
  • Prepare accurate plumbing estimates from construction plans and specifications
  • Perform material and labor quantity takeoffs
  • Develop plumbing isometrics and gas riser diagrams
  • Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, cost risks, and value engineering opportunities
  • Prepare and distribute bid transmittals, plans, and specifications
  • Develop project budgets and cost models
  • Coordinate with operations teams to ensure estimates align with field execution
  • Communicate with contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and project documentation
  • Manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Specific Qualifications
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Prior plumbing industry experience
  • Experience estimating residential plumbing projects
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing blueprints, construction plans, and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, fixtures, and installation methods
  • Proficiency creating plumbing isometrics and gas riser diagrams
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel preferred)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
  • Must pass background screening
Preferred
  • Experience working with production homebuilders
  • Knowledge of Florida plumbing and gas codes
  • Experience with estimating software and digital plan platforms
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Fully office-based position in a professional, team-oriented environment
  • Fast-paced environment with bid-driven deadlines
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
  • Frequent use of estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital plans
  • Ability to review detailed plans and drawings for extended periods
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds
