About the Role
As a CBRE Senior HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex commercial HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems across large facilities. This role is part of CBRE's Engineering and Technical Services function, which provides preventive maintenance, technical support, and repair services for critical building systems and equipment.
What You'll Do
  • Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain advanced electric and pneumatic control systems used in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment.
  • Calibrate instruments, gauges, sensors, and control components to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Inspect, test, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment failures, determining and implementing the most effective corrective actions and system modifications.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to identify and develop improved methods, processes, and solutions that enhance individual and team performance.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise within HVAC engineering while maintaining a strong understanding of related disciplines.
  • Mentor, coach, and support team members in developing technical skills and operational knowledge.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values. Anticipate challenges, address objections, and influence stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Drive the achievement of customer, operational, project, and service objectives across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to the development of new processes, standards, operational plans, and best practices that support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma, plus 5-8 years of related HVAC, mechanical, or engineering experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or shift management experience is preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex operational and technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze unique situations and implement effective solutions that positively impact business operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with a proactive and inquisitive mindset.
  • Strong commitment to safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
