Job description

Why Gutridge?
Gutridge is a leading construction and service company offering Plumbing, Mechanical, Fire Protection, and Electrical services to customers in the greater central Ohio marketplace. As a HVAC BIM Coordinator, you will create and coordinate LOD 400 HVAC fabrication models, as well as produce detailed shop and spool drawings for fabrication and installation. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong coordination skills to support successful project execution.
What Are We Looking For?
  • Develop and manage detailed HVAC models, shop drawings, isometrics, schedules, and spool drawings for fabrication and installation.
  • Interpret construction documents and engineering plans to identify conflicts, potential issues, and implement practical solutions.
  • Lead internal coordination meetings and effectively communicate project updates, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders, design teams, management, and field personnel.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to develop RFIs and resolve coordination, fabrication, and installation challenges.
  • Oversee and coordinate third-party production teams as required.
  • Generate accurate Trimble layout points and utilize Trimble RTS systems with FieldLink.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Navisworks Manage (required).
  • Willingness to learn and implement new VDC platforms, programs, and add-ins.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable city, state, and national codes, including SMACNA, NFPA, and relevant mechanical codes.
  • Ability to independently develop and manage HVAC models and content with minimal supervision while demonstrating leadership and accountability.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with staff, contractors, engineering firms, and project stakeholders.

Requirements
What Do We Want To See?
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; formal training in BIM, VDC, CAD, or Revit strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in MEP coordination, VDC, and fabrication; relevant HVAC field experience will be considered.
  • Previous sheet metal or mechanical piping field experience is a plus.
  • Experience managing projects involving third-party production teams preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to support overall project success.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams in a fast-paced construction environment.
