BIM Coordinator

The Position


The BIM Coordinator for Above Group shall assist the BIM Manager to ensure projects are set up correctly and modeling is set up efficiently to ensure smooth project and process management. This individual shall directly contribute to the Firm and its success through the application of knowledge and technical experience to effectively produce a quality design and ultimate product to the customer. The BIM Coordinator shall multitask, while managing multi-disciplinary support. The BIM Coordinator shall execute project and process management duties as required to ensure quality is always maintained.


General Duties:

  • Assist with coordinating the setup, maintenance, and ongoing updates of project models, templates, and standards in Revit and AutoCAD while implementing workflows, best practices, and the desires of the client.
  • Support project teams in developing accurate, well-coordinated building systems models that improve constructability, reduce rework, and support efficient project delivery.
  • Assist with managing and curating the firm's BIM content libraries (including families), systems, and schedules. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and current software alignment.
  • Coordinate BIM support for the firm's visualizations, diagrams, and renderings as needed for internal reviews, client presentations, and marketing efforts.
  • Assist with staffing coordination across multiple projects. Working with project managers and discipline leads to balance workloads and BIM support needs.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, the design team, and constructions teams.
  • Support BIM execution planning.
  • Assist with BIM coordination and working group meetings, applying the IDS (Identify, Discuss, Solve) process to track, communicate, and resolve coordination issues.
  • Assist with compiling BIM-related updates, coordination insights, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

The BIM Coordinator shall meet the following minimum requirements:


  • Associate's degree in architecture, construction management, drafting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in construction project software management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • Proficient understanding and knowledge in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, AEC disciplines, MEPF, and Architectural and Structural Standards.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Comfortable with traveling (i.e., flights, car services, hotels).
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work independently/self-motivated, as well as in a collaborative team setting, highly organized, and detailed-oriented.
  • Strong project management, strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers, Microsoft Suite, i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Proficient knowledge in Building Information Modeling, and tools.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 15-20 pounds.
  • Able to hear to take phone calls as well as to clearly communicate verbally.
