Position Summary:
Villanova University invites applications for adjunct teaching positions in Humanitarian Engineering for graduate courses taught in the evening and/or undergraduate courses taught during the day. The Center for Humanitarian Engineering and International Development offers programs leading to a minor in Humanitarian Engineering and offers a series of courses within the graduate program in Sustainable Engineering that includes topics related to international development. It supports research and curriculum development related to sustainable development which is integrated with M.S. degrees and participates in the College of Engineering Ph.D. degree program.
The Center for Humanitarian Engineering and International Development was established in 2020 as an outgrowth from the Villanova Engineering Service Learning Program. The Center partners with non-profit organizations globally for the purposes of creating unique experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty wherein outreach efforts are integrated with research and curriculum in support of poverty alleviation and global challenges related to sustainable development. The Center is rooted in ethical engagement with global partners and genuinely believes that partnership, empowerment and humility are key elements of addressing global issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching and related duties will vary based on the specific course(s) being taught.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree required. Applicants must be committed to excellence in engineering education.
Preferred Qualifications:
A doctorate in Engineering or closely allied discipline is strongly preferred.
Previous teaching experience preferred.
