Job description

Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Counselor I will review of main responsibilities. The Mental Health / Substance Use Disorder Counselor will work on a Full-Time basis out of Helio Health's Jail Mat Services Program.

In addition to Helio Health's comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time hires for this position are eligible for a Sign-On Incentive up to $1,500!

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and/or mental health disorders.
  • Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.
  • Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.   
  • Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required AND demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status:
    • QHP status includes active enrolment in CASAC or Associate's or Bachelor's level Human Services program.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services with CASAC-T preferred.
  • One year counseling/human services experience preferred.
  • Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
  • Knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling. 
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.
