Job Summary
At tkMNA, we provide a foundation to foster and support a safe, professional, and fulfilling experience. This internship is designed to provide on-the-job training and experience for college students. Our interns engage in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity to enable them to gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform at a professional level. Our interns provide support to professional employees working in an organizational function related to the intern's area of study.
What You Will Learn:
As a benefits intern, you will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of the various benefit plans that make up an employer's overall benefit package. You will have the opportunity to develop problem solving and interpersonal communication skills in delivery of customer service. You will also gain knowledge of the technical nature of benefits, including benefits system navigation, data reconciliation, and billing.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
  • Responds to telephone calls and emails, resolving benefit inquiries
  • Completes various administrative tasks within the Benefits Administrative system including the review of qualifying life events and coverage changes
  • Reviews and processes court orders requiring changes to benefit coverage
  • Reconciles monthly invoices from related vendors and facilitates approval for payment
  • Learns organizational processes and procedures
  • Contributes to assigned projects and may assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records
  • Works in team environment, communicating as required with all personnel
  • Assembles information in a timely and efficient manner
  • Collaborates with staff and departments in preparing special projects

Minimum Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated (within 1-year) from an accredited university or college with an HR focused or related degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Applicants should be competitive, assertive, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Entry-level knowledge and skill within specified area of professional specialty.
