Job description

InterDent is a leading Dental Service Organization (DSO) supporting 165 practices under the brands “Gentle Dental” and “Capitol Dental.” We support more than 2,000 team members and serve patients in eight states: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Kansas, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Washington.

At InterDent, we believe our people are the foundation of exceptional patient care. As part of our Human Resources team, you will play an important role in supporting over 2,000 team members across a growing multi-state healthcare organization dedicated to improving the lives of the patients and communities we serve.

This is more than a traditional Generalist role—it is an opportunity to build relationships, support team members and leaders through important HR processes, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

We are looking for someone who enjoys helping others, solving problems, staying organized, and being part of a team that values accountability, service, and continuous improvement. Whether you are looking to grow your HR career or expand your experience in healthcare operations, InterDent offers an opportunity to learn, contribute, and make a real impact.

In return, we offer a supportive team environment, opportunities for professional growth, competitive benefits, and the chance to be part of an organization focused on providing lifelong, integrated oral healthcare to the communities we serve.

This position is hybrid; work from home 1-2 days per week, and in office 3-4 days per week, and based in Vancouver, WA.

Position Description:

The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day administration of HR systems, employee records, and routine HR processes across the organization. The Human Resources Generalist also provides first-level support to employees and managers on routine HR, employee relations, HRIS, benefits and leaves, and employment-related questions while partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure the accurate, timely, and confidential handling of HR information and processes.

As a member of our support team working in partnership with teams in the field, a service mindset and a focus on solutions are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and process HRIS workflows, following up as needed to ensure timely completion and data accuracy
  • Maintain electronic personnel files and support compliance-related documentation, recordkeeping, and tracking requirements
  • Perform routine audits of HRIS and employee data and assist in identifying, researching, and correcting discrepancies to maintain data integrity
  • Run standard and ad hoc HR reports and support routine data requests for HR, payroll, and leadership
  • Provide first-level support to employees and managers on HRIS navigation, workflows, and basic system functionality
  • Escalate complex system, workflow, or data issues and partner with Sr. HR Manager, Payroll, IT, or vendors as needed for resolution
  • Support HRIS updates, testing, process improvements, and implementation of new workflows or system enhancements as assigned
  • Maintain HRIS process documentation, job aids, and standard operating procedures for routine transactions and workflows
  • Assist with HRIS user access, permissions, and security administration in accordance with company policy and confidentiality requirements
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes, including completion of assigned HRIS and administrative tasks
  • Track and support compliance-related processes, including I-9 administration and other required employment documentation
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including handling correspondence, organizing files, and supporting department initiatives and projects
  • Partner and support Directors of Operation and Practice Managers with performance management, behavioral issues, policy interpretations, corrective action, and conflict resolution conversations, serving as first point of contact for day-to-day employee relations matters and partnership with HR leadership to ensure consistency, appropriate escalation, and risk mitigation
  • Serve as a backup to other HR functional areas and assist with key deliverables and day-to-day team activities
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to employees and managers regarding routine HR, HRIS, and employment-related questions, escalating more complex matters as appropriate
