Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Job Purpose:   
The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is to provide support to specific schools with students with significant social-emotional-behavioral challenges, designated Support Staff, and School Administrators. The primary function of the Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) is to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options.
Major Responsibilities:



  • Designing, implementing, and teaching staff to implement behavior observation systems, training/support plans, and behavior intervention guidelines
  • Collecting, summarizing and presenting data on students that best reflects current progress
  • Collaboratively support and supervise Registered Behavior Technicians and BCBA candidates.
  • Maintain appropriate records, assist and provide guidance for teachers and other staff in the implementation of behavioral interventions
  • Participate on behavior teams providing support and management for the implementation of behavior plans
  • Provide coaching and professional development to staff on behavior interventions and supports
  • Participate in Planning and Placement Team meetings on an as-needed basis
  • Confer with general education classroom teachers, along with special education teachers/pupil services staff and administrators regarding students with various disabilities and behavioral challenges
  • Experience administering and interpreting assessments such as, VBMAPP, FBA, Ecological etc.
  • Train staff and/or family members directly on the implementation of behavior support plans
  • Consult and/or conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments to inform the development of individualized FBA/BIP/Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular and consistent attendance is considered as essential function of this position

The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst works under the supervision of the building principal. 
Qualifications:

  • Have worked in a public school or specialized out placement school program
  • Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst credentials
  • CT state Licensure as a Behavior Analyst
  • Completed 8-hour supervision course for BACB
  • Candidate must be proven to be responsible and reliable, ability to perform a physical restraint, and strong communication skills
  • Team oriented and positive contributor to school climate and culture

 Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to physically participate in student restraint and/or seclusion
