Job description

About the Role:

We have a current opening for a Forklift Driver and are actively reviewing applications.

Fannie May in Northlake, Illinois, is looking for an experienced forklift operator to move packages and materials throughout the facility. This location is a freezer facility, so the temperatures are lower than a normal warehouse. This individual will need at least one year of experience in a warehouse and will operate; standup forklift, turrets, and reach trucks.

Shift: 1st shift - 5:00A.M - 1:30P.M. Monday through Friday with overtime when needed.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for ensuring proper quality standards are maintained, including all labels are appropriate and that all products are selected as accurately and efficiently as possible. 
  2. Operate certain machinery; forklifts, stand forklifts, pallet jacks
  3. Move all required materials to the correct department within the warehouse
  4. Required to perform all duties in accordance with company safety guidelines listed in the company handbook.
  5. Expected to work safely, and efficiently.
  6. Responsible for line sanitation and ensuring proper clean up at the end of the shift.
  7. Participate in on-going training to enhance knowledge and skills.
About You:

Education or Experience

  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • Understanding of basic arithmetic, reading level to understand instructions, policies, and procedures.

Physical

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing for extended periods, frequently repeated manual tasks.
  • Ability to work in cold environment (45 degrees).

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer entry for inventory control purposes

Compensation Data

The base hourly rate for this position is $20.50 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
