Job Description
Our HR team plays a critical role in supporting a growing, geographically dispersed workforce while maintaining the culture, compliance, and operational excellence that defines TVG-Medulla and it's 3 chiropractic brands. The HR Business Specialist serves as a core member of the Human Resources team, functioning as a hands-on generalist and coordinator who supports day-to-day HR operations across our clinics.
This role bridges administrative HR execution with employee-facing support, ensuring our people processes run smoothly, compliantly, and with care. The ideal candidate brings a generalist mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and direct experience with payroll (Paychex preferred) and HRIS platforms - and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-state healthcare environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Manage employee relations/performance matters
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
  • Benefit experience - assisting employees with all benefit questions
  • Respond to employee inquiries thru our HR ticket system
  • Develop and coordinate employee engagement events
  • Promote HR programs to help improve the "employee experience"
  • Maintain and analyze HR metrics - time to hire, turnover, rate of pay, etc.
  • Monitor social media reputation and draft proposed responses
  • Supports performance management within clinical operations
  • Respond to employment verification requests
  • Perform administrative duties related to payment of vendors and similar tasks
  • Conduct stay/exit interviews
  • Ensure compliance of local, state and federal HR laws/regulations (We are a multi-state organization (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, West Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.)
  • Support talent acquisition team appropriately
  • Perform other responsibilities as the position evolves

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, health systems management, business administration, or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of local, state and federal HR policies/guidelines/laws
  • Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams).
  • A proactive, high-energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement and learning.
  • Excellent communication and people skills with ability to pivot as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related fields, or equivalent experience in a human resources setting.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working as an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, or HR Business Partner
  • Onboarding experience
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with Payroll or HRIS systems; Paychex strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience conducting exit interviews, grievances and other employee relations functions
  • Multi-state experience - Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, West Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
